Heirloom Keepsake Box

I crafted this box for my beautiful bride as a gift on our wedding day from a combination of rich cherry wood and stunning black walnut. Complete with hand-cut dovetails, wood-burned hearts of the Holy Family, and the hand-carved von Buelow crest on the lid (where the name of my company ‘Golden Oriole’ comes from).

Hand-cutting dovetails is a true rite of passage in joinery - a major accomplishment that proves your skill as a woodworker. It was always a challenge I looked forward to tackling, and I am quite pleased with the results.
