Wedding Crucifix

As Venerable Fulton Sheen wrote, it takes “three to get married” - the bride, the groom, and Our Lord. This truth is represented in the beautiful tradition of the couple holding a crucifix together while professing their vows. I had the honor of crafting this crucifix for a friend and coworker of mine to hold during his wedding ceremony to his beloved bride, and to place in their new home together.

The contrast and harmony of the purple heart wood and the glowing orange padauk speak to the reality of two unique people coming together in the sacrament of marriage to form a beautiful harmonious union. Fitted together with precise, seamless joinery, this piece will be an heirloom for their family for years to come.
